Artanis. If you bought Legacy of the Void, you get Artanis for free, so I'm covering him early. A Bruiser who thrives in low-intensity sustained combat, essentially ignoring damage forever if the enemy team lets him, but can crumple relatively quickly if focused on and especially if targeted with disables and Blinds.
Thrall. Another Hero that Spoils of War gives you for free, and also a pretty cheap Hero to buy with Gold. Shocking ability to absorb punishment, healing it off for free as he doles out damage, and very able to run down and assassinate unwary loners all by himself. Technically a close-combat fighter, and can certainly build to lean into that, but also surprisingly able to output ranged pressure.
Malthael. One of the Heroes most desperately in need of an overhaul to get his Talents and Abilities more coherently designed. (His need is a bit less desperate than when I first started planning these pages, but he still has a lot of wonkiness) Nonetheless, a shockingly good camper and very deadly to certain Armor-reliant Heroes.
Imperius. An ambush-tactics Bruiser who hates to retreat, hates Blind and Evasion, and doesn't like Roots, but can pin enemies in place for allies and soak a lot of punishment if his enemies stay in his reach.
Leoric. A Bruiser with exceptional ability to win duels against high-HP Heroes (Such as Tanks and Bruisers), good waveclear, and easy access to a quirky form of Unstoppable, who remains relevant and useful to his team even when dead.
Deathwing. A Bruiser who is immune to ally benefits but quite reliant on fighting alongside teammates to maximize his effectiveness. Also permanently Unstoppable, making him immune to most trapping effects and whatnot, but actually especially vulnerable to many effects that don't respect Unstoppable. Also hates percent damage, Armor penalties, and Talents for ignoring Armor.
Xul. A Bruiser with extremely strong waveclear and a bundle of utility effects for Heroe combat.
Sonya. A Bruiser who can stick in the field indefinitely, with strong ability to clear Mercenary Camps and high damage output in general, but limited ability to disrupt the enemy's plans.
Dehaka. A Bruiser who can be almost anywhere his team needs on a moment's notice, with excellent ability to shrug off damage and evade telegraphed attacks, good waveclear, and the ability to pull enemies into bad positions if he ambushes them or they're careless about positioning near him. Also, the Bruiser who I genuinely don't understand why they aren't classed as a Tank.
D.Va. A Bruiser who never has to sit out the action unless she's killed twice close together, with her first death just switching her to a long-range powerful single-target attacker. In Mech mode, she's very good at interdicting escapes while performing her own escapes, has great waveclear and good ability to shrug off punishment. Also can intermittently deny a death, leaving her enemies to deal with a massive explosion instead of a kill.
Rexxar. A 2-in-one Bruiser, made of a mid-range damage dealer and his trusty tank of a bear. One of the best Heroes in the game at securing Mercenary Camps on his own, and quite capable of dueling a lot of Heroes to death, but can be a bit of a liability when facing Heroes who benefit disproportionately from Takedown credits. (Most obviously, The Butcher)
Ragnaros. A melee Bruiser with excellent waveclear, better poke than you might expect, and the innate ability to blunt hard pushes on his team's Structures. Also has the 'my team has lane pressure advantage' Heroic.
Varian. Currently classed as a Bruiser, but intended to be a 'multi-class' character who can function not only as a Bruiser but also as a Tank or Melee Assassin. Always a bulky melee fighter with good ability to stick to targets and good self-sustain past the earliest stages of the game, and guaranteed to shine at supporting his teammates eventually.
Yrel. A ponderous Bruiser whose Basic Abilities all require a mobile channel by default, requiring good forward planning and awareness to maximize her effectiveness, but with shocking ability to shrug off punishment for extended periods.
Gazlowe. A Bruiser who excels in extended fights over specific locations (eg Objectives and Mercenary Camps), who doesn't necessarily ever need to retreat, and can be very disruptive to enemies who are predictable and/or poor on mobility.
Chen. A Bruiser who never needs to retreat to restore his resources, with absolutely absurd ability to shrug off both sustained and burst damage, all while interfering with escapes and pursuits and having respectable damage output. Both Heroics make him even more difficult to kill.
Hogger. A Bruiser who's very disruptive, never needs to leave the battlefield unless brought seriously low on HP, which is difficult to have happen given his high self-sustain, and with excellent ability to solo-clear basic Mercenary Camps.
